How do our Board Members get ready for the upcoming school year?

We asked our ND-ACDA Board Members for one or two things they do to get ready for each school year! Here is what they said:

"To prepare for the fall, I spend time listening to recommended repertoire shared by colleagues. I also engage with professional development communities to gather fresh ideas. Even if I don't end up using all the suggestions, the process helps me get into the right mindset and start the school year feeling inspired and focused." -Chris Loeffler, President-Elect

"I love attending the Popplers Reading Session which usually occurs the 2nd week of August. Whether my music is already selected or not, it is so great to see colleagues from around the state/region, enjoying how  everyone looks refreshed from the summer, feeling their energy for the upcoming year, and hearing about what they are most excited about for the coming year really helps boost my spirit and gets me into the right gear!" -Melanie Popejoy, College & University

"In the last weeks of summer, I love rummaging through my music library. I always find new pieces to do that fit my incoming choirs and old songs that I always seem to gravitate toward. But one of my favorite ways to start off the year is by attending music reading clinics. Its such a great time to reconnect with colleagues and see what great new music is out there. I find myself keeping the choral packets and regularly purchasing music from previous clinics." -Elizabeth Haugen, Surround the State In Song
